♦ Hope for Salisbury to have a comeback is at an all-time low. The scary part is that not only has hope dwindled for Salisbury, but people located in the county areas realize that they don’t need Salisbury to survive for themselves to be able to live well, which leaves the citizens of Salisbury to try and figure out how to survive on their own.
Though I am thankful so many can continue on in their lives with a few adjustments, I cannot help but wonder when the real men and women of the ‘powers that control Salisbury’ will speak out and take a stand against what they know to be wrong and work towards uniting the members of Rowan County.
Of all the roles and positions of authority that seem to hold a vacancy, none is more important than the roles of real men and real women.
The mentality of “it’s not my responsibility and does not fall within the boundaries of my control” is a virus spread across Rowan County and infected the citizens. How can anyone use that excuse knowing that a house divided against itself will not stand? Why do you think the voting rights of more than 100,000 plus are ignored? It’s equal to a silent protest.
I’ve only been to the East and West Rowan areas, so I can only speak for what I’ve seen of these two. It appears while the elected officials, and appointees of such, have been busy dividing up who gets what, citizens have mentally relinquished their rights as citizens to become just people. As people, they are discussing with each other what it will take to live in a world that does not consist of fame nor money. And they are finding that they like it just fine.
By doing this, they’ve discovered they are capable of sustaining their own house and making certain that there will be no division within it. They are either bracing or have braced themselves for the collapse of Salisbury. They are ready. Are you?
