♦ This evening around 6:40 p.m. a robber, armed with a shotgun, hit Walgreens at 1505 East Innes in Salisbury, N.C. After brandishing his shot gun and threatening to kill people, the robber forced the pharmacist to open the safe, demanded Oxycodone and Xanax, and then rolled over the counter. He grabbed a handful of pills and escaped through the drive-thru window. Customers and sales personnel are said to be safe. The robber, described as a stocky white male about 6 feet, disappeared across the street.
The robber wore camouflage pants, a gray long-sleeve t-shirt, and a military style bucket hat.
For a time area streets were blocked off by Salisbury Police as a Special Response Team entered the drugstore. During robbery Walgreen’s staff placed about 8 customers in a locked area to protect them. The front doors were also secured so no one else could gain entry to the store.
