♦ In 1961 after a B-52 broke in half in the skies over N.C. and two nuclear bombs fell on Goldsboro, N.C. Through a strange twist of fate neither bomb detonated. The one fully armed nuclear bomb had many times the power of the bomb that crushed Hiroshima. It effects would’ve devastated a large portion of North Carolina. The story just came to light through a freedom of information inquiry and was carried last evening on CNN and BBC News. Picture the power of a 260 megaton nuclear bomb radiating out in all directions. If you were living in Goldsboro, N.C. your molecules would’ve been incinerated in a flash of white light.
