♦ With gun violence on the uptick in Salisbury, N.C., Fernando Portillo, 56, of the 100 block of Faye Lane shot into his home occupied by two persons and threatened to kill them with a knife. According to Sheriff’s Office sources, besides the knife, Mr. Portillo went armed with a bolt action Remington 770 into Saturday night’s foray into domestic violence.
Held in in Rowan County Detention Center without a bond, Mr. Portillo was charged with assault on a female, assault with a deadly weapon, assault by pointing a gun, discharging a firearm into occupied property and communicating threats. He is scheduled today for a court appearance.
