♦ “Many eyes see, many ears hear, there are no secrets in Macao .” Charlie Chan
And the same holds true about secrets in Salisbury, N.C. where secrets sometimes last only minutes. In city hall, where folks often attempt to hide everything, no secret lasts long especially for someone creating so many enemies. Somebody soon blabs–and more follow.
By lunch time the day after Doug Paris’s abrupt “mutual termination”, the cat scrambled out of the bag and unsavory stories started flying. Most stories centered around the city’s former manager and Ex-public information officer Elaney Hasselmann who “resigned” the next day.
We have a pretty good picture of what led to Tuesday’s closed session from various sources in city hall, but more confirmation is required before we print it.
In the interim imagine a large closet where the former city manager and the ex-information officer enter with the door shutting behind them. In a few minutes all your questions will be answered.
