♦ Mr. President, why are you not listening to the pleas of the American people concerning Sgt. Andres Tahmooressi held in a Mexican jail?
You worked long and hard in an attempt to enhance your falling public approval by trading five Taliban murderers for Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl whose honor still remains in question. Yet, you cannot reach across the southern border and snatch a proven hero out of a Mexican jail? While illegal immigrants from Mexico live in relative luxury once they cross our southern border, Sgt. Andres Tahmooressi is now is entering his 3rd month in, what is without question, inhumane captivity.
Of the 16 billion dollars given to the top ten countries on our donation list, Mexico comes in at number 8 at $757.7 million. Although this is not much considering what our government wastes elsewhere trying to buy friends, I suggest that if congress even hinted at stopping this aid, Mexico’s president, Enrique Pena Nieto, would have the Sargent on the next bus to the U.S.
Mr. President, surely this Combat Veteran is worth at least one possible deserter.
