♦The Rowan County Commissioners voted 3 to 2 on Monday to pass the County budget. Commissioner Jon Barber and Commission Chairman Jim Sides voted against it. Last week’s 2 to 2 split over the budget was broken by the return of Commissioner Chad Mitchell. Commissioner Mitchell would only agree to support the budget if the other commissioners would provide Rowan-Salisbury School System any additional revenues that the state budget might deliver to the county. Barber, saying he believed the schools needed more funding, voted no on this issue. The motion passed 4 to 1.
