♦ Our friend on the radio show “The Week in Politics” David Post wrote an outstanding Op Ed in the Salisbury Post: “Something Big Happened in Salisbury”. I highly recommend this editorial because it pretty much captures what went down in Salisbury’s City Hall during Doug Paris’s “mutual termination”, “golden parachute”, and city council’s astounding cover-up of the episode.
As you know since the Rowan Free Press first appeared in the early spring of 2012 we’ve kept watch on the city manager’s office and city council. City employees informed us about probable ethics violations, a complete lack of truth about Fibrant, extreme cronyism, backdoor manipulations, vendettas and retributions against anyone who didn’t play ball with the city manager’s office, wrongful terminations, and “big gulp” expense accounts among other items. The city is in big financial trouble as a result of its bottom feeders in city hall.
Now Freedom of Information Act inquiries point to far more than mere ethics violations. We and others, who join us in our campaign for city hall reform, will do everything in our power to make sure a large scale investigation of wrongdoing and corruption in Salisbury’s City Hall takes place on the state and federal level and that those, who illegally profited, do some hard time.
City council you will not be able to “move on” and put your cover-up behind you. It will not rest. In the best interests of Salisbury you need to step down.
