♦ The Rowan County Sheriff Office charged Dequan Miquel Weldon, 18, a Salisbury High Student on Monday night with first degree rape and indecent liberties with children. Mr. Weldon, living in the 3000 block of West Innes In Salisbury, N.C. was alleged to have a relationship with the 12 year old back in 2013. The felony offenses took place at between November 1st and December 31 when Mr. Weldon was 17 and the victim was 12. One incident occurred at his home and one occurred at the victim’s home.
Mr. Weldon’s court date is set for Wednesday July 16th. He was issued a written promise to appear in court.
