♦ The FOIA inquiry obtained below by the Rowan Free Press from Salisbury’s City Hall clearly demonstrates why we and many area TV news viewers tune-in to the hard-hitting and balanced coverage provided by WSOC Channel 9′s Allison Latos, the station’s morning anchor. Her TV 9 exposes and on the ground coverage in Salisbury and Rowan County are way out in front.
We suspect we’ll see even more of Allison in Salisbury in the coming months as City Hall corruption and cronyism becomes more sharply defined in the crosshairs. Stay-tuned.

Good morning,
I’m the morning anchor at WSOC-TV and I’m writing regarding the proposed RSS central office location at 329 South Main St.
During the Oct. 15, 2013 council meeting, council discussed the possibility of seeking legal advice on whether county commissioners’ opposition to the South Main St. location over concerns of contamination could be considered slander.
Are you aware of a “Notice of Residual Petroleum” filed on November 1, 2013 with the Register of Deeds? It was signed by City Manager Doug Paris.
Could you please respond to the land use restrictions, existence of residual petroleum, how it applies to commission statements of concern and the city’s efforts to have the central office constructed at this site?
Thank you,
Allison Latos
