♦The Chamber, along with the West End Community and West End Pride Organizations, held a second Town Hall meeting Monday, August 11th at the Miller Center. Along with citizens and community leaders from various neighborhoods, many elected officials attended. The meeting focused on recognizing issues compiled by the multiple neighborhood participants, ranking them by importance. Specifically, the top three issues were drugs, gangs, and gun violence. Meeting leaders stressed the importance of offering solutions.
The Chamber member Kenny Hardin’s remarks began with the African proverb, “If the children aren’t initiated into the village, they will burn it down just to feel its warmth.” RFP will post solutions offered by participants on the forthcoming Community Hub page, which will soon appear in our top-of-page links. Video footage of the productive meeting appears below.
