♦Nearly empty of customers most days, Salisbury’s previous Taj Mahal sits forlorn and forgotten out on MLK. Few people come by to pay their utility bills and rarely do Fibrant customers show up. Since the major down-scaling of city services due to the shrinking employee roster, the Customer Service Center’s grass towers over the splendor of weeds. Perhaps this edifice to the Salisbury’s “visionary progressivism” might better serve as a Central Office should all those recently proposed short-term leases fail to amuse the LGC?
It’s great to know the same mind that hatched the brilliant moneysaving idea of wrongfully terminating city employees without benefit of their unemployment safety net, is burning the midnight oil in the city manager’s office, devising short-term lease schemes to evade LGC rules.
