♦ Phil Hardin just launched a Facebook website: “Phil Hardin BOE Candidate“. Phil Hardin is running for the Rowan-Salisbury Board of Education’s North Seat 1 currently held by Richard Miller and is drawing heavy support from parents and teachers across the county. Many parents and teachers are very concerned about the Rowan Salisbury schools have falling way behind in graduation rates, literacy, poor composite scores on the most recent State Education READY Report, and gangs, drugs, and discipline. Many are disturbed by the Board of Education’s priorities of tossing good money at overpriced downtown Taj Mahals and forgetting about youngsters in obsolete buildings and “trailers”. And Richard Miller wanted to sue the taxpayers before a mediator stepped in and said not happening Richard. Phil Hardin knows what the real priorities are: Students, teachers, and decent classrooms.
