♦ Yesterday I read that yet another armed stick-up occurred in Salisbury, N.C.–this one Downtown on Fisher over by Church Street where a female victim got robbed for her cellphone.
Violence is a city-wide affair in Salisbury. People get assaulted on the street almost daily, carjacked, stabbed, shot up, get whacked in gang drive-byes, and get blasted in crossfires. Five homicides already this year. Salisbury is not a safe place to live by any stretch of the imagination. The gangs here have the run of the streets. West End, Downtown, Long Street–there is no safe haven in the city.
It’s well known the police department here lacks enough staff and funding to protect the community or send out enough patrol cars. People have to provide their own protection if they want any safety on the streets or in their homes. Salisbury is under siege.
Get a permit at the very least and purchase a handgun. Consider getting a concealed carry permit if you want to chance it out on the streets of Salisbury. That big roulette wheel may take a spin and your unlucky number may well come up at any hour of the day. A gun gives you a fighting chance. Learn to use it.
