♦ Why was the land swap hidden from the public view?
Who benefits from this “swap” and how?
Why is the N. Ellis Street property coveted? Does it have some hidden value?
Does the school system come out on the losing end on this swap in someway?
Why wasn’t the “owner” of the 500 block of N. Main mentioned by name?
Why were some of the school board members kept in the dark about this deal while Richard Miller School Board Chairman and Superintendent Lynn Moody appeared to be active participants in the swap? Why did Superintendent Moody refrain from stating to whom the N. Ellis Street land and building were being swapped?
Why would the previous school board settle for a Central Office that will not be fully consolidated?
If the upcoming school board changed its mind about the deal and desired to back out, the deal contains a “suicide pill”: The Rowan-Salisbury school system is forced to give the Ellis Street office over to the Wallaces in two years and pay interest on the land at North Main.
Unless the swap was in violation…
Regardless of legalities, these are questions to be answered if transparency has any meaning to the school system.
