♦ Saturday the Salisbury Police were called to an apartment complex on W. “D” Ave in Salisbury, N.C. where they found a badly battered woman laying dazed and bleeding on the floor of her apartment. The victim sustained a broken nose, a badly lump up and cut face, and a swollen jaw. The young woman was strangled and had her face smashed repeatedly into a door.
The assault allegedly was set off when the young woman refused to turn her cell phone over to her boyrfriend Brian Dejon Diggs, 22, of the 1000 block of Celebration Drive in Salisbury.
After taking the cell phone, Diggs stormed out of the apartment and drove off with the victim’s car.
Later the police arrested Diggs at his residence on Celebration Drive, He was charged with with assault serious bodily injury, felony assault by strangulation and the unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. He was taken to the Rowan County Detention Center.
