♦ Brandon Lee Rumple, 20, aka “The Menace” plead guilty to a lesser charge of attempted trafficking heroin and was convicted in Cabarrus County Court Thursday. He will receive 11 to 15 years in a state penitentiary.
Rumple still faces drug trafficking charges in Rowan County for which he has a court date upcoming in February. He remains in the Rowan County Detention Center under a $2.5 million dollar bond where he was recently busted for fashioning a “shank”.
“The Menace” has a long and florid record of drug related arrests in Cabarrus and Rowan Counties including:
• January 2012 was convicted of a delivery of a schedule I controlled substance.
• In April 2012 Rumple was arrested for possessing 200 grams of heroin in a Charlotte dwelling.
• In October 2012 he was arrested for attempting to discard 6.7 grams of heroin in a portable toilet while doing community service.
• In July 2013 he was charged with shooting a .380 pistol at two persons in his home during a dispute and for a possession of a firearm by a felon.
• In October 2013 he was arrested for probation violation and was charged with possessing drugs hidden in a balloon in his rectum.
• In March 2014 he missed a court date in Cabarrus County.
• In April 2014 he was charged with drug possession, resisting arrest, destroying criminal evidence, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
