♦ Salisbury City Council is delaying their search for a new city manager, claiming they desire more applicants. Previously council had penciled in the new hire in time for their annual retreat in February. Now they want a larger pool of applicants.
Council announced their search, conducted by Developmental Associates in Chapel Hill, N.C., trimmed their pool to less than 10 candidates. Now the candidate clock has been reset in order to locate more candidates, leading up to the best possible candidate.
Many in Salisbury are concerned city council will conduct another “show” like they did over two years ago when they chose Doug Paris and go for someone City Hall “connected”. John Sofley is considered the heavy front runner for the job.
