♦ In a random review of 14 polls conducted on the “Most Distrusted Professions in America” the following “professions” stuck out as the sleaziest:
1. Insurance Agents
2. Used Car Salesmen
3. Lobbyists
4. Car Mechanics
5. Telemarketers
6. Accident, Divorce, and Criminal Lawyers
7. Politicians
8. Bankers
9. Stock Traders
10. Funeral Directors.
Often the above professions are stereotyped and much maligned, yet reviews of Better Business Bureaus show many of these professions often receive the most complaints. One curious common denominator among these professions is that they are involved in sales. It would be interesting to see how subjects from these “professions” would score on measures of sociopathy and manipulation.
