♦ The Last Word Bookstore Salisbury’s premier used bookstore will close its doors in May. The owner cited a lack of business for the closure. The Last Word will be the second bookstore to close in Salisbury since last summer when Books-A-Million ceased operations.
Located on the periphery of Downtown Salisbury at 612 W. Innes Street, the Last Word will no longer be buying merchandise save for current textbooks. All merchandise will be sold at 50% off of their regular store prices.
Store hours for the present will be Tuesday through Saturday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
The Last Word has a thriving sister store near the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
