♦ N.C. House Bill 324 will make all school board elections partisan. At present most school board elections in North Carolina are nonpartisan. In Rowan County it means that having an R after your name will provide you a better chance of getting elected to the school board. Previously school board candidates had to depend on their names either showing up on red cards, if they were Republican or blue cards, if they were Democrats.
