♦ Benjamin Ross Hollifield, 25, of Buck Board Lane in Salisbury and a youth and outreach pastor at Piedmont Baptist Church, was arrested Friday night by Rowan County Sheriff’s deputies and charged with ten counts of statutory rape/sex offense with a 13, 14, 15 year-old by a defendant 6 or more years younger (felony) and four counts of indecent liberties with a child (felony).
The victim was said to be a 13 year-old Piedmont Church member. The acts were alleged to have happened on February 15th and March 8th of 2015. Hollifield was terminated by the church.
Under a $1,000,000 secured bond, Hollifield is now in the Rowan County Detention Center.
Hollifield has no prior criminal record in North Carolina.
