♦ A full scale homicide investigation was launched this morning at 1006 S. Fulton Street near Harrison Street in Salisbury, N.C. Yellow crime scene tape stretched across the front of the red brick apartment duplex. Investigators on the scene questioned neighbors and gathered evidence. The victim was identified as Steven Omario Rosario, 18, who was set to enroll at a North Rowan High School and had just moved here within the last two weeks from Jacksonville, Florida to attend school. Rosario was originally from Salisbury.
Earlier this morning Salisbury Police were dispatched at 7 a.m. to 1006 S. Fulton by a 911 call. It was reported that Rosario’s apartment door was kicked in before several shots were fired. Rosario collapsed on his living room floor and later was pronounced dead at the scene. The shooting was said to take place 2 hours before the police were called.
At this time no motive has been provided and no suspects were yet identified.
Related to this morning’s homicide was that North Rowan High School and Salisbury High School were placed on a Code Yellow lockdown a little after noon as a precaution for a little over an hour.
Another shooting took place at the 1006 S. Fulton Property in October of 2014. That victim lived.
