♦ Deandre Treshaun Mitchell, 19, of East Spencer was arrested Monday by a joint operation of the Rowan County Sherriff’s Office, the Salisbury Police, and officers on the U.S. Marshall’s Office for allegedly shooting into an occupied home and car on Old Wilkesboro Road in Salisbury last March.
Back on the night of March 22nd, Brice Robinson and her son were headed home when they noticed a vehicle tailing them. Shortly after Robinson turned into her driveway on Old Wilkesboro Road she noticed the vehicle following her turned back up the street in her direction. Instants later the car on Old Wilkesboro Road opened fire, putting six bullet holes in rapid succession in Robinson’s vehicle. Robinson and her son fled into her house and hugged the floor as two bullets ripped through the walls in an adrenalin pounding moment.
Known to Robinson’s son, Deandre Treshaun Mitchell became a suspect and warrants were issued for his arrest. On Monday he was picked up on the 100 block of Pearl Street in Salisbury. As yet no motive for the shooting was announced.
Mitchell was charged with discharging a firearm into an occupied property (felony) and damage to personal property (misdemeanor). Held under a secured $50,000 bond, Mitchell is in the Rowan County Detention Center.
