♦ Matthew Steven Cain, 29, of the 1200 block of Beachnut Lane in Rowan County, was arrested for allegedly trafficking 48 oxycodone (hillbilly heroin) pills after a call for an alleged domestic dispute with the mother of his daughter. The person calling the dispatcher described a domestic dispute involving a baseball bat.
When Sheriff’s deputy showed up at the 300 block of Mahaffey Road, he found the front door open and heard an argument going on inside. The deputy asked the pair to step outside. The woman complied, but the man, identified as Matthew Steven Cain, placed something in a cabinet above the sink before he complied.
The deputy asked the woman if she was okay and if he could come inside and search the premises. She invited him in. Right away he bee-lined to the cabinet where he located 48 oxycodone pills. Uh oh.
The deputy arrested Cain and charged him with trafficking heroin or opium (felony). Under a $7,500 secured bond, Cain is in the Rowan County Detention Center.
