♦ On March 13, 1966, Chief Master Sgt. Edwin E. Morgan US Air Force, along with six other soldiers boarded an AC-47D, known in the ranks as “Puff the Magic Dragon”. They departed Da Nang, South Vietnam on an armed nighttime mission. Shortly thereafter, contact was lost with the aircraft. Later a search yielded nothing and the crew was listed as missing in action.
Yesterday Chief Master Sgt. Edwin E. Morgan returned home escorted by the Patriot Guard Riders of North Carolina.
