♦ Trenton Ray Weast, Jr. 23, with addresses at West Peeler Street in Granite Quarry and North Oak Street in Salisbury, N.C. , was arrested Friday. Weast allegedly tried to flee Rowan County Sheriff deputies on Long Ferry Road after they attempted to pull him over along with his companion Kelly Denise Bell, 19, of Salisbury. Leading deputies on a high-speed chase, Weast eventually stopped his vehicle and attempted to take off in foot only to be overtaken Rowan County Sheriff’s deputies. A fight ensued on the 200 block of Harris Point Road where Weast allegedly stomped Deputy Naturile in the head while he was down. Quickly overwhelmed, Weast was handcuffed and taken into custody.
Weast, who has numerous arrests in Rowan County, N.C. and Horry County, S.C., was arrested and charged with resist/delay/obstruct a public officer (misdemeanor), assault on a law enforcement officer, (misdemeanor), carrying a concealed deadly weapon (misdemeanor), possession of control substance schedule II (felony), possession of control substance IV (misdemeanor), possession of drug paraphernalia (misdemeanor), disorderly conduct, (misdemeanor), flee to elude (felony), and driving while license revoked (misdemeanor).
Under a secured $20,000 bond, Weast was placed in the Rowan County Detention Center.
Weast’s companion Kelly Denise Bell, who allegedly gave false information about Weast’s name to deputies, was arrested and charged with resist/delay/obstruct a public officer (misdemeanor). Bell was issued a $500 secured bond and was in the Rowan County Detention Center until she was released.
