♦ Julian Lepe Garcia, 35, of the 911 block of North Jackson Street in Salisbury, was charged Monday with possessing 530 grams of black tar heroin street valued at $70,000 The heroin was located by a K-9 in a PVC tube, packed with coffee grounds, was buried in the ground near the corner of house. Inside Garcia’s residence were found drug legers, a heroin filled balloon, and related drug paraphernalia employed in heroin distribution.
Garcia is currently in the Mecklenburg County Jail on related drug charges.
Monday’s heroin raid on Garcia’s North Jackson street house across from a City Park children’s playground, was a joint effort by the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office, Salisbury Police Department, and special investigative units from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
