♦ Jimmy McFadden Menius, Jr., 52, of Long Ferry Road in Salisbury was arrested Thursday for an alleged armed robbery of a Walgreens pharmacy at 2069 Rockford Street in Mt. Airy, N.C.
On Thursday morning Rowan County Sheriff’s deputies, officers of the Mount Airey Police Department, and officers of the Wytheville, Virginia Police Department executed a search warrant at 1350 Long Ferry Road in the Salisbury area and made a through search of the premises when they were tipped off about Menius’s whereabouts. Evidence was found allegedly linking Menius to the Mt. Airey Walgreen’s robbery as well as a number of other pharmacy robberies in North Carolina and Virginia including the Spencer Walgreen’s armed robbery on September 24th 2014.
In Menius’s alleged pharmacy robberies he was said to show a gun and demand opiate pain killer pills. Its said that law enforcement investigators are examining pharmacy holdups patterns elsewhere.
Menius, was charged with 2 counts of robbery with firearms or other dangerous weapons (felony) and may face other pending charges from other law enforcement agencies including federal agencies due to the interstate nature of the alleged crimes.
Under a $200,000 secured bond, Menius is being held in the Rowan County Detention Center. His first court appearance is slated for Friday July 17th.
