Yesterday it was reported that Starbucks partially buckled to the anti-gun lobby by asking customers now not to bring guns into their stores. They added that their customer service people won’t chase anyone if they show up packing a .44 Magnum on their hip or tucked in under their hoodie waistline.
While I’m kind of partial to their blonde coffee for my morning wake-up, I won’t be showing up again anytime soon to their Salisbury spot on East Innes until they change their weak-kneed tune. By the way my coffee fave in Salisbury is Panera Bread. Their Hazelnut coffee is tasty, has plenty of jolt, is not acidy, freshly brewed, and is reasonably priced. Panera doesn’t pander to the anti-gun lobby.
Starbucks, despite some folks claims they are liberal, is a corporation that will bust any union activity in seconds flat and use amped up GMO coffee beans. They are savvy in their marketing, aiming at a market that will support rainforests and save the big cats–but when push comes to shove they’ll bend to any wind which will sell the most java to their market.
They messed up yesterday on guns.
My next cup of coffee will be at Panera’s.
