♦ Chad Richard Timms, 37, of Salisbury was killed Tuesday at 3 p.m. while resting against a guardrail of the Klumac Road Bridge (700 block of Klumac Road). Timms died when a multi-ton truck and its utility trailer swerved to the right to avoid a black mini-van which allegedly cut across the center line. Timms was struck hard by the utility trailer’s spare tire. Emergency responders declared Timms dead at the scene.
A witness at the scene supported the truck driver’s report of swerving to avoid the black mini-van. The truck driver was not charged. The police are now looking for the mini-van driver who they believe contributed to the accident and failed to stop.
