♦ Recently fired from his job at R.L. Carriers and allegedly drowning his troubles with beer, Mark Andrew Foutz, 26, of South Main Street in Salisbury attempted to take on his father Charles Andrew Foutz, 54, in a bitter argument and wound up being stabbed with a sword early Tuesday morning. Bleeding out from a deep chest wound, Mark Andrew Foutz was transported for emergency surgery to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem where he was reported to be in critical condition this afternoon.
Salisbury Police arrived on the scene and were greeted by the disconsolate father who called 911. The family attempted to staunch the bleeding with a balled up shirt. A Salisbury Police Officer applied first aid until emergency medical services arrived and transported Charles Andrew Foutz to the hospital.
The case remains under investigation. No one has been charged.
