♦ Looks like blades are back in vogue in warzone Shotzbury. Allegedly hard pressed for cash, John Ashley Murdock, 37, of Salisbury was said to put the “mooch” on an old pal by requesting a loan for some fast food burgers. When the obliging pal pulled out a wad of bills, he was allegedly confronted by a gleaming knifepoint. With no resistance at first, Murdoch pocketed approximately 200 bucks and headed off toward the “Tattoo Inferno” Shotzbury’s leading tat emporium on N. Green Street. Said to have outstanding “icepick in scull” tats and “Love n’ Hate” knuckle doo-dads it adds to the local color.
Scene one of Shotzbury’s “Halloween” remake went fairly well until the ole pal tried regain ownership of his departed cash. The pair scuffled near the front of “Tattoo Inferno”. Cars slowed down to watch. Another rumble in the Bury?
Scene two. Murdock broke free and headed up East Innes for McDonald’s with the robbery victim’s wife shadowing him at a safe distance. Later she overheard Murdock when he spoke with Patrick Leffew, 54, of Salisbury, in McDonald’s. Murdock allegedly passed the stolen cash to Leffew and instructed him to hide it in the Men’s restroom at McDonald’s. The victim’s wife, a short time later, dimed the pair out to the police.
Scene three. Murdock was arrested and charged with robbery with firearms or other dangerous weapons (felony). Under a secured $7,500 bond, Murdock was placed in the Rowan County Detention Center.
Leffew was arrested and charged with aiding and abetting (felony). Under a $5,000 secured bond, Leffew was being held in the Rowan County Detention Center.
