♦ Belk Store housekeeper, Christy Marie Hooks, 44, of Rockwell, was alleged to have stolen over $5,000 worth of clothing and housewares from the Belk Store at Wallace Commons on Klumac Road on Tuesday. Allegedly caught on the Belk Store’s surveillance camera concealing product and leaving the premises with it during the morning until noon shift, Hooks was confronted by investigators.
Hooks allegedly returned a number of the items after being confronted.
Hooks was arrested and charged with larceny by servants and other employees (misdemeanor). Under a secured $500 bond, Hooks was placed in the Rowan County Detention Center and later released on bond.
