♦ Marterius Azende Robinson, 17, a felon from the 600 block of Laurel Pointe Circle in Salisbury, was arrested Saturday for allegedly stealing an older model Toyota from the Forum parking area and was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle (felony). Under a $5,000 secured bond, Robinson is being held at the Rowan County Detention Center.
When the Salisbury Police finally put Robinson’s feet on the ground after a multi-day joy ride through the Bury, Robinson allegedly told them he’d driven the Toyota for several days and had no idea it was stolen. (Read Marterius’s Previous Record below)
The victim reported the stolen Toyota belonged to his uncle and was “lifted” from the Forum parking area around 9 a.m. while the victim worked out. The victim told police the Toyota was an older car and couldn’t imagine why anyone would steal it. (RFP Staff: Older model Toyotas are among the top picks for car thieves–Toyotas are more likely to go unnoticed)
On Saturday the victim spotted the missing Toyota driving out of Sheetz in the early afternoon and followed it all the way to an apartment complex on Pearl Street near Morlan Park Road. Robinson was arrested a short time later.
