Miriam Robinson, Salisbury, NC
♦Thank you Steve Mensing for standing down the city powers and bringing truth to our City.
Your reply to the Police Chief who attempted to usurp media’s right to free speech was courageous, diplomatic, and on target.
The truth about the lack of written simple assault reports made the evidence supplied to the TV station and elsewhere a sham. It reflects badly on the City of Salisbury.
It is wrong for any city government to try to give its citizens a false sense of security. People need to know that Salisbury possesses dangerous areas and its citizens need to exercise caution. Simple assaults or whatever anyone wishes to call random senseless brutality exists despite some protestations from persons who should know better.
Rev. Al Sharpton’s and Mayor Dinkins recent messages about the so-called fictitious Knockout Game speaks volumes.
