♦ Gunfire could be heard Monday night around 10:30 p.m. coming from the intersection of South Craig and Monroe Streets in Salisbury (near Livingstone College). Two Black males were reported wounded in the brief firefight. One man sustained a chest wound and was transported by EMS to Novant Rowan Regional Medical Center. The other man received a hand wound. The men, not yet identified, were said to be conscious and okay.
Salisbury Police arrived on the scene and are conducting an investigation. No one from nearby Livingstone College was involved.
As yet no motives for the shootings were released. No one at this time was taken into custody or suspects developed.
