♦ A lone masked bandit stepped into the Watts BP Mart on 7350 Unity Church Road in Rowan County around 9 p.m. Tuesday and stuck up the convenience store clerk at gunpoint for an undisclosed amount of cash. Holding a stainless steel pistol, he shoveled his take into a black and gray backpack and left.
A number of customers witnessed the robbery, but could not make out the robber’s face because he wore a dark bandanna covering his nose and mouth as well dark glasses and a green baseball hat with what is appeared to be a UNCC 49’ers logo on it. Sporting purple gloves, he stood between 5’10” and 6 feet tall and weighed approximately 150 lbs.
