♦ In the third consecutive day of Salisbury shootings, two young Black males Antwond Glenn,18, of Salisbury and Leslie Wendell Stefon Felder,18, of Salisbury were wounded in an exchange of gunfire on the 100 block of N. Church near Bounce City on early Sunday morning in Downtown Salisbury. Multiple gunshots were heard by area neighbors and before long Salisbury Police and Rowan County Sheriff’s Office vehicles raced through neighborhood and filled up the 100 block of North Church.
Glenn was shot in the right foot and Felder sustained a wound to the back. Both men ran to the 100 block of East Innes where they asked for help. Both men were transported by EMS to Novant Rowan Memorial Medical Center. Glenn was treated and released. Felder was later transported to N.C. Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem and was later released.

Earlier Salisbury Police detained two young men and questioned them about the gunfire. They were soon released. An active shooter or shooters were believed to be in the neighborhood at that time. Member of law enforcement reported that a large unruly crowd were spread out along the 100 block of North Church. The Salisbury Police and Rowan Sheriff’s Office deputes cleared the area without further incident.
At this time no motives or suspects are known.
Investigators swept the 100 block of North Church and failed to turn up any shell casings or blood spatter.

Dateline – Salisbury, Murrica’s City – 12:27 a.m. May 15, 2016 as I sat slightly napping, suddenly a single gunshot rang through the downtown night. From my experience as a NRA Certified Pistol Instructor, it sounded like a shotgun or big bore revolver from the vicinity of the intersection of 100 West Council and North Church Street. Then I heard five or six smaller caliber gunshots followed in rapid succession. I heard the sounds of engines racing. I decided to investigate on foot.
A very professional SPD Officer who had two young men up against the wall asked me to leave his crime scene and told me he had an active shooter. A photo of this is attached. I understood his concern as I had, as is my habit, my Glock 17 strapped to my waist as I walk around downtown at night. I returned home after a few pics, locked it in my trunk and returned to the scene after taking a few photos.
The pictures speak for themselves. An Officer with RCSO told me two men were shot somewhere in the street in the vicinity of the 100 Block of North Church at a location in the photos and that one was wounded in the leg and another in the lungs. A second officer told me that the victims had run all the way to the 100 Block of East Innes. The manager of the bar there told me the victims did not make it inside but were stopped in the middle of East Innes Street and that he heard one was shot in the back and one in the foot.
I spoke to a gentleman who seemed to be in charge of the only open establishment this time of night on 100 North Church Street and he said that nothing had happened inside his establishment and that it had happened “at the corner.” I asked if they had any security on duty and he said that the party had happened too quickly to have security. He maintained that nothing had happened inside of that establishment.
A sweep of the 100 Block of North Church Street by LEOS did not uncover any spent cartridges or a blood trail. Once they understood that I was acting as media, they were most cordial and cooperative. It should be noted that Rowan County Sheriff’s Office arrived almost simultaneously with SPD in an apparent attempt to support the under-manned SPD. All law Enforcement officers were very thorough and professional. One officer surprised me by saying my FB Post at 12:27 a.m. was the first warning that something was happening downtown.
