♦ Barry Dean Hepler, 56, was stabbed to death prior to midnight Monday allegedly by Satonia Yvette Gray, 25, of the 1700 block of U.S. 601 in Mocksville. The murder allegedly took place at his trailer home on 139 Cone Road in Woodleaf, N.C. Hepler’s home is located in Woodleaf Park off of Highway 801.
Hepler died of multiple stab wounds and expired nearby at his father Paul Hepler’s home at 151 Cone Drive in Woodleaf Park. After answering a 911 call about a stabbing prior to midnight, deputies found Barry Hepler dead on the floor in his father’s living room floor. Hepler apparently bled out from multiple stab wounds. The living room and its furniture were splattered with blood.
Gray was allegedly seen in Woodleaf Park with a knife in her hand, but left before the Sheriff’s Office deputies responded. Later Gray was located at the Mocksville apartment complex on U.S. 601 where she lived. She gave up without resisting.
The Late Barry Dean Hepler:
Satonia Yvette Gray was taken into custody by Sheriff’s deputies with the help from the Davie County Sheriff’s Off within hours of the killing. Gray was charged with murder (unspecified) (felony) and is now in the Rowan County Detention Center. She is being held without bond. Her first hearing is scheduled for Wednesday.
Gray, still wearing bloody clothes, allegedly confessed to Hepler’s murder. According to sources no romantic relationship existed between the deceased and Gray however Gray allegedly often stayed at Hepler’s trailer home. The knife employed in the killing has not yet been found.
The two are said to have argued loudly prior to the murder. No motives for the murder are known yet.
