Press Release
♦As you well know, over the past few months there has been a loud call for new leadership in Rowan County.
I am stepping forward to answer that call.
My name is Judy Klusman and I’m here to announce I’m running for county commissioner.
From my vantage point, all the concerns expressed trace back to one of three issues:
- Education
- Jobs
- Poverty
We cannot be affective in battling poverty or increasing the number of jobs available in this area until we first address the desperate needs of our education system.
I am resolved to focus my efforts as commissioner on these needs, but I cannot do it alone.
We need parents willing to insist their children respect themselves, their peers and teachers.
We need the teachers and administrators of this county to continue the creative and exemplary work they demonstrate daily. And we must have local and civic leaders willing to build coalitions supporting students, parents and school personnel.
My pledge as candidate for county commission is to do just that.
And for that I need your support!
Let me hear from you. Let me know you want a commissioner committed to bettering our education system, so that Rowan County meets the #1 criterion of all new businesses desiring to establish themselves here; an educated workforce.
In this way we will, together, incubate new job opportunities and reduce the grinding poverty so many of our neighbors face each day.
This is no pipe dream; we can do this together and I ask for your vote, your support and your prayers.
