♦Over the past year advanced ”printable weapons”, similar to 3D Liberator ”printable handgun” described previously in the RFP, demonstrate rapid improvements in 3D gun technology. Overnight 3D weapons are becoming more practical, sturdier, and safer to use and are leaving the prototype stage in the rearview mirror. The 3D weapons are now cheaper to construct because “consumer priced” state-of-the art 3D printers are arriving on the market in this highly competitive field.
With better and cheaper 3D printers becoming available, homebrew handguns and weapon will be more available to both the law abiding do-it-yourselfers and home gunsmiths. And alarmingly to the criminal underground for sales and distribution completely under the radar. Today across America gun production has taken a high tech turn and is about to speed up for better or for worse. Simple home and self-protection becomes more affordable for all. At the same time a vast quantity of untraceable weapons can flood the streets of America and elsewhere to arm criminals for stick-ups, drive-byes, and gang activity. These weapons can be quickly disposed of with little to trace them.
