Salisbury: Timothy Ellerbe, Jr. Arrested for Allegedly Breaking into Cars at Clancy Hills Wednesday // Woman Knifed on W. Council St. Saturday

♦ According to Salisbury Police sources Timothy Warren Ellerbe, Jr., 20, staying at 124 Clancy Street in Salisbury, was arrested early this morning for allegedly breaking into cars in the parking lot of the Clancy Hill Apartments and stealing valuables around 4 a.m. The Salisbury Police were alerted by a resident that someone was opening vehicle doors and rifling though their interiors.

Timothy Warren Ellerbe, Jr.:

Officers called to the scene went straight away to the Clancy Hills Apartment complex office where they asked to see the surveillance video trained on the parking lot.  Ellerbe, Jr. allegedly was caught on camera going into cars and later retreating to 124 Clancy Street.  Security quickly identified Ellerbe, Jr. and he was arrested a short time later when officers showed up at his address.

Ellerbe, Jr. was charged with 2 counts of Breaking and entering vehicle–rr cars and other motor vehicles (misdemeanor) and larceny (misdemeanor). Under a secured $10,000 bond, he is being held in the Rowan County Detention Center.

♦ According to Salisbury Police sources Claudette Harmon, 21, of N. Titan Street in Salisbury, was the victim of an assault with a knife on a property on the 600 block of W. Council Street near the intersection of W. Council and North Craige Streets. Harmon, in the company of two other young women, was assaulted by a stranger wielding a blade. Fortunately she only sustained minor injuries before the assailant fled beyond the street lights. The crime was reported to the Salisbury Police at 2:16 a.m.

The investigation remains open. There are no arrests at this time. No motives for the assault have been provided.
