♦ According to Salisbury Police sources early Saturday morning, just after midnight, a Salisbury Police patrol car became involved in a high-speed chase with a motorcycle after it failed to pullover for traffic stop. The motorcycle, with two people onboard, hit speeds approaching 100 miles-per-hour. The motorcycle’s flight ended after it ran a red light at the intersection of Jake Alexander Boulevard and Old Concord Road and smashed into another vehicle and a Salisbury Police car. The motorcycle was obliterated. Its two riders were hurled a short distance from the accident. Neither the driver or the passenger were identified. Their condition was listed as critical with extensive injuries. They were transported to an area hospital.
Neither the driver of the patrol car or the driver of the other car were reported injured.

♦ Salisbury Police sources report that officers were called to 211 S. Shaver Street 8:08 p.m. on Wednesday by Phyllis Wright, 55, and Johnny Wright, 51, residents of the house. Police call the attack on the property “victim of all other shooting into an occupied property”. An unknown shooter with a handgun discharged it into the enclosed front porch area while the Wrights were home. 4 screens on an enclosed porch, an iron decoration, and a picture were damaged by the gunfire. Damages were assessed at slightly less than $50. Thankfully no one was injured.

Gunshots, Olde English 800 inspired fistfights, and prostitution are all too common in this neighborhood come nightfall.
