♦ I received a call from the North Rowan Band Booster Club Treasurer asking for financial assistance for an upcoming band competition in Atlanta, Ga.
The caller said the band had qualified to attend the competition and has held a number of fundraisers, but were still short of the $10,000 needed to attend.
I explained that it was short notice as the money is needed by this weeks end, but I would still do what I could to assist in helping them reach their goal.
Attached is the formal letter I requested she send and the message that accompanied. If you can assist these young people participate, please show your financial support.
Dear Councilman Hardin,
Attached is the letter you requested. I want to thank you for your help. By the way, the band will be practicing every night this week until 7:00 pm at the high school. We will have someone available to receive donations.
