Salisbury: Andrew Sims Wounded Wednesday Night on S. Shaver Street // Occupied House Shot into on Old Concord Road Wednesday

♦ Sources in the Salisbury Police Department were called at 7:09 p.m. Wednesday to the 500 block of S. Shaver Street on a report of gunshots. When officers arrived they learned that several persons in Black Ford Crown Victoria were firing shots as they drove down S. Shaver Street. Officers found several shell casings on the ground.

The police soon learned during the course of their investigation on South Shaver Street that Andrew Sims, 23, who just returned from Asheville and was looking for a place stay, was dropped off at the Novant Health Rowan Medical Center’s Emergency Room with a gunshot wound to his lower left buttock. He reported being shot while sitting in his car parked on the street at 502 S. Shaver Street. Sims is expected to recover.

At this time no suspects have been named.

♦ Salisbury Police sources report that at 8:43 p.m. Wednesday that a second shooting incident, no far from the S. Shaver Street shooting, occurred at 201 Old Concord Road where an all other shooting into an occupied property was reported.  Betsy Robinson, 59, was home at the time and called 911 about the shots.  When officers arrived they found both interior and exterior walls were damaged by an undetermined firearm.  A window and an oven/range were also damaged.  The total damage estimate was set at $250.  Thankfully no one was injured.

At this time no motive for the shootings was revealed. No arrests have been made.
