♦ The terror continues unchecked in Salisbury’s West End.  Almost daily gunfire can be heard somewhere in Salisbury.  Much anger throughout the city about what many believe was a completely unjustified “No Knock Warrant” leading to the death of a young man with no apparent police record and the unnecessarily placing of officers in harms way.  Many citizens are aware of the no body cams excuse given out by the current police chief and regard it as bunk. The chief claims it would show the swat team’s “secret tactics”.  And to top that off City Hall called another meeting where they “listen”, but seldom take action.

The RFP supports a true independent civilian review board, but will city hall stack it with friends?  There are good reasons why people are unloading their homes on their way out of Salisbury to find safer conditions elsewhere. Unchecked violence and property crime may be at the top of the list.

Salisbury Police sources reported that a car, with a male driver along with his girlfriend and their young child, was likely struck by a bullet from a crossfire on West Horah St. near Lloyd St., an area chronically visited by gunfire.  The shooting was reported at 7:36 p.m. to 911 from the male driver calling from the Sonic Drive-in restaurant nearby on W. Innes St.  A bullet struck the rear passenger window shattering it.  The child sitting in the backseat was not injured.

Police investigators at the crime scene located shell casings on Lloyd St.  The male driver informed police that he heard gunshots coming from opposing directions.
