♦ Salisbury Police sources report that Ronald Rico Harris, 36, of 217 N. Long Street in Salisbury, was arrested Wednesday afternoon at the Sun Trust Bank parking lot at 507 W. Innes Street for allegedly kidnapping his girlfriend and slashing her face with a box cutter blade.
Harris was charged with robbery with firearms or other dangerous weapons (felony), assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury (felony), and kidnapping (2nd Degree) (felony). Harris is being held without bond at the Rowan County Detention Center,

Harris allegedly began a loud domestic dispute with his girlfriend on the front porch of her home on the 412 Lincolnton Road in Salisbury where he allegedly threatened: “Tell me the truth B***h or I’ll kill you.” The argument escalated and Harris allegedly slashed at her with a box cutter blade, inflicting three slashes on his girlfriend’s face. She attempted to grab at the razor blade and gashed her left hand in the process. Their altercation could be heard throughout the neighborhood.

Police sources report that Harris allegedly demanded his girlfriend go with him to the Sun Trust Bank ATM on West Innes Street so she could remove some cash. He wanted go to the ABC liquor store. Minutes later when Harris drove his 1995 Pontiac Trans Sport van into the Sun Trust Bank lot, he drove up onto a median. Another person in the lot approached Harris and noticed the woman’s condition in the van. He called 911 and the Salisbury Police responded quickly.

The girlfriend was transported to Carolinas Medical Center for treatment. The police seized two hunting knives and box cutter razor from Harris during his arrest.
