♦ After a six-month undercover investigation the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office in tandem with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) arrested John Wayne Gray, Jr., 44, and Sarah Marie Hoffner Pharr, 29, both living at 314 Mocksville Avenue in Salisbury, for allegedly dropping off 43 grams of heroin to parking lot at a Salisbury business address. A search was conducted at the business there turning up 2.6 grams of heroin, opioid tablets, a shotgun, $480 in cash, and shotgun ammo.

Pharr was charged with trafficking heroin by transportation (felony), possession and sale (felony), and conspiracy to traffic heroin (felony). Pharr was placed under a secured $100,000 bond and remains in the Rowan County Detention Center.
Gray was charged with 2 counts of trafficking heroin by transportation (felony), 2 counts of possession and sale (felony), conspiracy to traffic heroin (felony). Several charges stem from an earlier raid on November 17th. Under a secured $500,000 bond, he is being held in the Rowan County Detention Center.
