♦ Sources in the Salisbury Fire Department and the Salisbury Police report that a fire early Friday morning at a home on 816 E. Franklin Street was purposely set. The structure was badly burned, but fortunately the family living there were not at home.
Neighbors called 911 to report the fire around 6 p.m. when they saw fire in the windows and smoke billowing off the roof. The Salisbury Fire department arrived quickly and had the fire under control by 7 a.m. Firefighters found a car parked in the driveway. During their inspection of the home they noted burn patterns appearing to fit a deliberately set fire.
No suspects or motives are yet known.
